Tsunami Disaster Based Fraud Letter
From: Support Loyal
Where did this letter come from? Well this is certainly a strange letter. It says it's from IBM, business transformation outsourcing (BTO). It's actually from Nigeria. Please note that the originating email address is not an IBM address. Their UK business address is in Portsmouth.
The letter is written to give the impression of familiarity, as if you should know the person who's writing, and know who on earth Alan, Smith, and Cameroun are. The letter wants you to think that this is some sort of inter-office effort, just us employees putting together a little something. If you "received it by mistake," since it supposedly comes from IBM what's not to trust? Right. This letter doesn't tell you to wire money by Western Union, but I can guarantee you that the next one does.
